 CHIEF MINISTER:

After the Congress won 135 seats in the Karnataka assembly elections, senior party leader Siddaramaiah became the Chief Minister and State President T.K. Sivakumar was also sworn in. MP continued as ministers. Patil, Dr. G. Parameshwar, KH Muniyappa, KJ George, Satish Jarakiholi, Mallikarjuna Kharge's son Priyank Kharge, Ramalingareddy and Jameer Ahmed were sworn in as ministers. Siddaramaiah is the twenty fourth Chief Minister of Karnataka, India.

THE PRESIDENT:
Shammi Silva has been elected as the President of Sri Lanka Cricket again. It is reported that he has been elected as the leader without a referendum. He will be the president of Sri Lanka Cricket from 2023 to 2025.
G-7 SUMMIT:
The summit of the 'G-7' organization, which includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, England, and the United States, will begin in Hiroshima, Japan.

This 3-day conference will end on the 21st. India, South Korea, Australia, Brazil, Vietnam, Indonesia, Comoros, and the Cook Islands are also participating in this conference by invitation. BSM Charles as Northern Province Governor, Senthil Thondaman as Eastern Province Governor and Lakshman Yappa Abeywardhana as North Western Province Governor were appointed by President Ranil Wickramasinghe.

CULPRIT:
Former US President Donald Trump was found guilty of sexually assaulting a journalist in 1990 at a clothing store. The jury made the decision in a civil suit brought against Trump by journalist Jean Carroll. The jury, which found Trump guilty of the related charges, also ordered Donald Trump to pay $5 million in damages to the journalist.

BABY BOX:
As the number of couples abandoning babies in Sri Lanka is on the rise, the government has decided to introduce baby boxes. The Sri Lankan government has decided to introduce baby boxes to prevent parents who are unable or unwilling to raise their newborns from leaving them in the care of the government.
WORLD BANK PRESIDENT:
Former Mastercard CEO Ageng Banga has been appointed as the new president of the World Bank. The appointment comes as the World Bank struggles to tackle debt in low-income countries and combat climate change. US President Joe Biden nominated Banga for the post, making him the first Indian-origin person to be appointed World Bank president.

Banka, who has been appointed to replace David Malpass, will take office on June 2 for a five-year term. Born, educated and brought up in India, Ajay Banga is now there. He is an American citizen. Notably, he worked at Nestlé and Citigroup before joining Mastercard.

DEATH:
Tamil film director and actor Mano baala (69) passed away on May 03 due to health problems and was undergoing treatment. A multi-talented actor as a film director, producer, and actor, Mano baala has acted in more than 500 films in character and comedy roles in Tamil. It is also noted that he has directed 40 movies, 16 TV serials and 03 TV movies.
DEATH:

Famous Sri Lankan television drama actor G. R. Perera passed away on May 01 at the age of 83. It is noteworthy that actor Perera has acted in more than 600 television dramas spanning more than 5 decades.
