I am Akshitha. I am studying in Grade - 08 at Kinniya central college. We have planned to spend our vacation fully with fun. So, we are preparing some famous places in Sri lanka and plan to go to Nuwara eliya district. That day came to go to Nuwara eliya.
We live in kinniya and there is no railway station in kinniya. So, we went to the nearest railway station in Trincomalee district. So, father got the train ticket to Nuwar Eliya for all our family members at China bay railway station.
This is my first train journey of my life. I am really excited about that. After getting the ticket, we went to the railway platform and waited for the train. The train came at 6.00 PM. We were going on the train and I asked for the window seat from my father. He gave me the window seat. I sat on the seat and looked at all the views from the window.
The train moved with a long horn from the railway station, and a few minutes later, the railway ticketing officer came to our railway station and asked for the ticket. He had checked the ticket. His uniform is like a police officer's. He was wearing an official cap.
After one hour, we reached another railway station. Many passengers on the train search for their seat, according to the number mentioned in the ticket. After that, some business person came to every train box and sold some food passengers need.
I saw the food in their basket. In the basket is corn, mango, short meats, some chocolates and sweets. My father bought the corn for us. The corn was very hot. I really enjoyed the corn when on my journey. It was an amazing feeling for me. After that, I asked for my father's mobile phone and watched some cartoons on YouTube. But, I couldn't hear the sound because the train engine sound was too high than mobile phone's sound.
The train was moving very slowly like a turtle. It was very boring. I slept on the train for some minutes. Time had gone and it was very dark. I cannot see anything from outside.So, we all slept on the train. Railway guards shutter all the windows to save passengers from robbery groups.
We started our journey at 6.00 Pm from China bay Railway station and finished our journey and reached Nuwara eliya railway station at midnight 4.30 AM. My father and mother woke up. He took all our travelling bags. Many passengers take off from the train. We moved to the entrance, and the ticketing officer was standing near the entrance gate. The officer asked for the ticket from us to leave the railway station. Father gave us the ticket and an officer allowed us to leave the railway station.
After that, we waited for the vehicle. That time, one of the people asked and he helped to go to the restaurant we had already booked through the hotel booking app. This train journey was a really amazing experience for me personally.
