01.Richest Person:
In the list of the world's richest people published by Bloomberg, Elon Musk is in first place with 187 billion dollars, and Bernard Arnold in France is second place with 185 billion dollars. It is noteworthy that Elon Musk was relegated to second place after the decline in Tesla company shares last December.
02. Crowning Ceremony:
Elizabeth II's son, Charles III, has taken over as England's new monarch after longtime queen Elizabeth II died last year at the age of 93. Charles' crowning ceremony will take place on coming May 6. For this, the 700-year-old throne is being renovated.

03. Arnold Classic 2023:
Lucian Pushparaj, who participated in the Super Heavy weight category in the Arnold Classic 2023 bodybuilding competition held in Columbus, USA, took 04th place.

Pushparaj is the only Sri Lankan player to qualify for the Arnold Classic 2023. It is noteworthy that he got fourth place in the competition held in 2022. Bringing more than 100,000 spectators and more than 10,000 athletes from more than 80 countries to Columbus, the Arnold Classic is one of the most important events in the world.

Notably, the competition is named after its co-founder, renowned architect and Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger. This year marks the 35th year of the competition and is also the first competition without its co-founder Arnold Schwarzenegger.

04. Recognize:
The famous Forbes magazine has recognized Sri Lanka as the best place to visit wildlife outside of Africa. This ranking by Forbes magazine comes as Sri Lanka continues to attract attention due to its unique tourist offerings and natural beauty. According to Forbes, Sri Lanka has the highest concentration of leopards in the world and the best cat population in most of Africa.

Sri Lanka is also home to Asiatic elephants, peacocks, water buffaloes, monkeys and honey bears, it said. Although whales can be seen from Cape Cod to the Dominican Republic, it is only in Sri Lanka that blue whales can be seen easily.

05. Oscar Award:

Famous Indian actress Deepika Padukone got an opportunity to present an award at this year's Oscars. Earlier, two Indians, namely Priyanka Chopra in 2016 and Persis Kambata in 1980 had achieved this historic moment. The 95th Academy Awards ceremony will soon be held in the United States. Notably, Deepika Padukone also had the special opportunity to announce the FIFA World Cup this year.

06. Virus:
Foreign media reported that another viral infection similar to the Corona virus is spreading rapidly across India. Foreign media have mentioned that it has been named H3N2. Due to this virus, symptoms like fever, chills and coughing last for 07 to 07 days. Also, doctors have said that it is a symptom of excessive pain in the muscles of the body.

07. Economic Index:
Sri Lanka has moved to the 115th position among the countries affected by the economic crisis in the world according to the latest ranking by Brand Finance Rankings. According to that ranking, Sri Lanka was ranked 73rd in 2022. Countries that have experienced severe economic and political crises, such as Zambia and Myanmar, are ranked 113 and 114 respectively, while Iraq is ranked 116th, Laos is ranked 117th, and Uganda is ranked 118th.

This information has been revealed in the latest report published by Brand Finance on the ranking of world countries in 2023. The report further indicated that Sri Lanka is currently facing its worst economic crisis since independence in 1948. And according to this global index, Sri Lanka is also the country with the highest situation in terms of recession this year.
08. Air Payment:
For the first time in 20 years, the fares for foreign flights using Sri Lankan airspace will be increased. This action will be taken to increase the annual income from foreign flights using Sri Lanka's airspace to one crore twenty million US dollars. The Ministry of Ports, Navy and Civil Aviation has taken steps to increase the air transport service charges as per the gazette notification. These air fares have been revised after twenty years with the new fares coming into force from 16 March 2023.

09. A very old woman died:
Johanna Masibuko, world's oldest woman has died. she was the Wright brothers' first flight, was a woman who lived during the Russian Revolution and the reign of Queen Victoria. The 128-year-old Johanna Mazibuko, who lived in Joburton in the north-west of South Africa, died on March 3, local media reported.

10. Prime Minister:
Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani was sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Qatar after the ruler of Qatar, Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, accepted the resignation of Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Abdul Aziz Al Thani, who served as the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
