Dr. APJ. Abdul Kalam

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was a popular scientist and India's 11th president. He was a motivational speaker to everyone. A scientist, teacher, an author, missile scientist and thinker about only India. An unwavering believer in youth, APJ Abdul Kalam was one of India's pioneers.

Barata Ratna Dr. Abdul Kalam was born on 15.10.1931. His father, Zainulabdeen; and Mother Ashia umma. Born in Rameswaram, Ramanathapuram District, India. He started his schooling at Rameswaram primary school.
His family was very poor, and he went to work for family maintenance during his childhood. During school hours, he didn't go to school properly. He worked as a newspaper delivery boy. He was interested in education, so, he started his studies in his free time. After that, he was selected to college and Abdul kalam joined St. Joseph's College, Trichy for his college studies.

In 1954, he got his bachelor's degree in physics. In 1955, he started studying aerospace engineering at MIT, Chennai. In 1960, Abdul Kalam started his research career as a scientist at DRDO.

After that, he started his research work on ISRO for 20 years. He was instrumental in launching satellites in the Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV). In 1980, he successfully launched the Rohini-I satellite using a SLV-III rocket. This was an achievement not only for him but also for India.

Dr. Abdul Kalam was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1981 for his achievements in the space industry. In 1999, Pokhran was instrumental in the nuclear weapons test. APJ Abdul Kalam, who made India a nuclear power, has worked on five missile projects so far. It was the biggest achievement for the nation of India.

He was sworn in as the eleventh President of India in 2002. Before becoming the President, he was honored with India's highest award, the Bharat Ratna, by the Central Government. He was the President till 2007 and was fondly called the "People's President". He says signing the gainful employment bill was the hardest decision he made during his tenure. On July 27, 2015, he collapsed while speaking on stage at the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong.
APJ Abdul Kalam has written various books. Prominent among them are 'Fire Wings', 'India 2020', and 'Rising Lights'. In his book India 2020, Kalam announced a plan to transform India into a knowledge superpower and a developed country by 2020. He dedicates his work to India's nuclear weapons program to make India one of the future superpowers. Finally, he is an inspiration to all of us. Most people and students are following their thoughts and getting the for an insipation.

Abdul Kalam's famous thought is " Dream is the biggest ambition. It does not come when what is disturbing you to achieve that is dream".

The popular scientist and eleventh president of India, APJ Abdul Kalam, passed away on July 27 in 2015 while delivering a guest speech to the students of the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong. When he died, his age was 83. His funeral was held with government respect.
