International Women's Day - March 08

International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8th by all the people who live in the world. Last year (2022), Women's Day was celebrated globally with the theme 'She is a country, a nation, a world'.

In 1975, the United Nations organization (UNO) recognized March 8 as International Women's Day. However, this practice for women was celebrated globally a century before it was recognized by the United Nations.

Women have acted in many roles, like mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, friends and relatives. Males have physical teeth. But women are strong minded.

Women dominate in all fields like politics, social activities, culture, literature, art, entertainment, sports, industry. Consider this saying that behind every man's success there is a woman. What a wonderful concept it has become. Women act side by side with men in many cases when men are tired.

There is some history as to how International Women's Day, celebrated around the world on 08 March, came to be. This festival for women did not start with a celebration. It was an event that began in protest. The American trade union system and the Russian revolutionary movement also played a huge role in this.

On March 8, 1908, 15,000 working women started a mass protest in New York City, USA, demanding that women's working hours be reduced, women's wages should be increased, working hours should be reduced to an average level, and women should be given the right to vote. Following this, the Socialist Party of America declared March 08 as 'National Women's Day'.

It was Clara Zetkin who came up with the idea of declaring this day as International Women's Day. It is announced that 100 women from 17 countries attended the conference where this announcement was made.

Subsequently, since 1911, Women's Day has been celebrated in countries like Austria, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland. Also, 2011 marked the 100th International Women's Day. So, in that respect, it is the 111th Women's Day.

Women's work is enormous. This should be approved. We must give them their freedom. As long as we see women as the eyes of the country, every day we give them their freedom is a women's day.
