Conversation between Passenger and Ticketing Officer

This conversation takes place between a bus station Ticketing Officer and a female passenger. The girl inquires about her journey from the station in-charge.

Passenger: Excuse me sir. I need to get some information about passengers bus time. May I ask you?

Ticketing Officer: Absolutely. What information do you need?

Passenger: What time is the next bus from here to Trincomalee district?

Ticketing Officer: A bus left 10 minutes ago.

Passenger: Yes. I came to travel on that bus. But, due to the traffic jam on the road, I could not reach the bus station on time.

Ticketing Officer: Did you miss the bus?

Passenger: Yes. I missed the bus.

Ticketing Officer: The next bus is at 7.00 pm. You can travel by that bus.

Passenger: So do we have to wait for two hours?

Ticketing Officer: Yes. The next bus is two hours later to Trincomalee.

Passenger: Isn't there any other bus between 7.00 pm and the bus means it will be 12.00 pm to reach Trincomalee. At that time, I had no one to carry me.

Ticketing Officer: So if you go before that, there is a bus to Anuradhapura in 10 minutes. It will pass through the Dambulla area. You can get down at Dambulla and travel by Trincomalee bus from there. The Trincomalee bus comes there once every 15 minutes.

Passenger: That's good. Can I book a seat for Dambulla?

Ticketing Officer: Yes. You have to pay 630 Rupees for Dambulla.

Passenger: Is the bus ticket 630 rupees for Dambulla?

Passenger: My office is in the Maradhana in Colombo. I am a journalist. I have been working as an Sub-Editor for a Tamil magazine for the last 3 years.

Ticketing Officer: Good. Being a journalist is a job full of responsibilities.
